Ive been making these lures from Beer Cans and others, for a few years now.
Id like to know what you think.
I make a few more different ones, like prawns and crickets, some butterflies.
Cheers

During the heat of fishing it can be hard to remember to take photos, or even to take a camera /phone. Lost many good photo opportunities especially if you rely on somebody else to take the photos.
(as seen by the number of photos of fish against my leg).

The edges are sharp but not nearly as sharp as teeth so good leader line helps.
The small lures, specifically the crab, have alot of flexibility and dont grab the line (but can tangle). On top of that I usually paint the little legs with acrylic for contrast and it softens the edges.
The larger ones like squid I furl the edges with a kebab skewer.
On others I use holographic prism decal and roll the edges over then coat with clear acrylic.
But I try to design them to keep the lure away from the line as much as possible.

With the aluminium cans, the outside has a coat of paint, the inside has a coat of plastic. So there are 3 layers of material with the 2 outside layers buffering the sharp metal.  So to cut with the edge it just about has to be straight on because any angle buffers against the paint or plastic and only scrapes. Or, thats how it seems to me.

Here are a couple I used the decal on. The bottom one is obviously meant to just look pretty.
