    Posted: 16 Jan 2013 at 1:50pm
I've got a Ryobi 190mm bandsaw (HBS 7600), which I only use to cut my back-to-back lures in half.  It's about 10-12 years old and Ryobi don't make replacement tyres for them.

I replaced a tyre about 2 years ago but can't get another to replace the perished tyre on the bottom wheel.  Between our local Ryobi service shop and I, we've turned the world upside down and are unable to find one.  The Ryobi man found a tyre that is slightly too large and the best advice is to cut it to size and glue it onto the wheel.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best type of glue to use? The wheel is alloy and the tyre is a yellow, urethane looking material.

Found this really good info, while looking for tyres:

If you have one of these crappy bandsaws, the Draper  190mm is identical. It's manual is better than the Ryobi:  http://www.drapertools.com/products/manuals/09681ins.pdf

Travers for some reason after seeing this post i have a feeling that i was suppose to send you a link of the tires i got????

If so then here it is...Sorry im sometimes forgetful.
I cannot find any new tires from the seller but you can try contacting him and see if he can get one made up for you?
I installed the tire without having to use glue.

Cheers

James

I haven't attempted to cut and fit the slightly over sized tyre, yet, but I have found a couple of suppliers, in the US, if all fails! Confused

G'day Bill

I cut my slightly oversized tyre and glued it on, using Loctite 406, yesterday. It will be interesting to see if it holds.

Where do you buy the self amalgamating rubber tape from?  Could be a good option for a bandsaw that is rarely used!

Cheers

Travers, from memory a company in Vic. Wolfenden Saws ? rerubbered band saw wheels. Memory might be abit vague but pretty sure name is correct. The amalgamating tape i have is 3M Scotch23 Splicing Tape, dont know where obtained from, used by the Electrical trade. Hope this helps. Cheers Richard. (OOPPS update Wolfenden Machinery at Airport West closed up in 2007. Sorry )

Thanks Richard.

I don't use the little Ryobi bandsaw to cut out the lure blanks, mainly because the blade wanders a bit and is too thin for my bib slots.  It's only use is to cut the double blanks in half, after they're carved and sanded, so it doesn't get a lot of use.

The original tyres died of old age! Confused

Powelly you should be able to buy it from your hardware store or electrical supplier I wound it around the wheel a few times to replace the tyre. To replace the drive belt I bought some 8mm round rubber from clark rubber cut to length with a scarf joint and glued it togrther with super glue still going strong.
