Slider 3" grubs, 1st and only plastic I take on a bass trip. Mind you I have a box with all the colours in it LOL
Fish them on a jig head, weedless or normal, as a dropshot, unweighted, as a spinnerbait trailer, full size, cut down..the best allrounder

Hard to argue with that - I take a lot more with me, but when the going gets tough Slider grubs go on.

Get a couple of mates together and get your sliders direct from Charlie Brewer, they are MUCh cheaper that way.
They are definitely my favorite plastic, can't beat the dunebug chartreuse.

If you can't find the sliders locally and don't want to import, atomic made a nice paddle tail grub too that comes in some nice colours.

Weedless plastic frogs are great in the lily pads, the strikes are just insanely explosive on those things for some reason.

And last season I started using Gulp Crabby's. In either the black or green. If I missed a Bass off the surface i'd drop the crabby in and usually end up catching the fish. Love them for bream too.

Any tiny grub in purple, black or dark red on a very small jig head. I only use these in very fast moving water running over boulders - otherwise it's all hard bodies.

I agree with whats been said so far as far as sliders and atomics go for bass and bream. Ordering from the states is the better option but many tackle stores still have stock. As a lot of you would know I've recently made a move closer to the coast and the other day I was trialling my range of new jigheads out on bream and whatever else swims. I used 11/2 inch sea grubs made by slider in motor oil gold with the orange button tail, dead sticked over sand I think this gives a good yabby imitation. Anyway a fistful of bream, a few flathead and a very cranky jew backed up my thoughts by gulping the plastic down. My chosen hook style in Matzuo brand....fine gauge black nickel found the corner of all fishes mouths very successfully. These jigheads have proven successful in the 2years of testing by me and other anglers and have caught fish in freshwater as well as saltwater....Last ABT comp I competed in, my jighead equipped Atomic 2inch curl tail was eaten by a cranky bass and on 3lb leader in 40feet of water the fight was a fantastic one but I was never in trouble as the hook lodged in the corner of the basses mouth and hung in there, even after my boater tried hard to dislodge it upon netting the fishClap........I also make these in bulk and retrofit lumo eyes to the jigheads. One other plastic to take with you on Southern impoundments are Berkleys jigging grubs and dropshot minnows. Regards B.J.

I haven't got one on Plastics yet, but have 1000s of Flattys clocked up.
I've been buying a range of size/weights in Sqidgey Jig Heads but I don't like Lead Grey.
So I've been tarting them up with NAIL POLISH! Painting eyes on them too!
The difference is ASTOUNDING!!!

Can't wait to try some at Lostock with ya BOB!
