Heading north in a few days to Hideaway Bay nth of Airlie for 2 weeks. Family holiday but taking the little side console boat up to explore the islands, do a bit of snorkling and of course my reason, fishing. With this in mind I covered my bases with a order of Gidgee lures of all sizes to troll and cast but was lacking in the popper department so figured I should knock out a few on the GMC lathe I have. I have to say, I know nothing about the finer art of popper making but never one to let lack of knowledge hold me back I put these together. The bigger cone ones are inspired by Barry's lures with some of the others by Richard Lee's as well as ones that just came about. The cone ones have lead in the arse (about 100 -120gram lures) to sit bum down (a bit too down a coupleLOL)  but I have big hopes for the 7.5inch black one with reflective tape bits on it (under the clear) which I think will have to get some predator attention so hopefully it will get destroyed by a big GTWink. Also finished a few scorpion / McSea lures for the jacks. Time was short and the fish arnt too critical so not too fancy a paint job, did not bother getting the air brush out, just used auto spray cans for this lot.

Called them "Boppers". The wife obviously heard me talk about Poppers and Bloopers and got the name mixed up and it stuckLOL

Be interesting to see how many survive the journey, and how many the fish gods steal.
There is some nice big GT that will test the out, with the odd bommie in the way
regards John

Have a good one. Not a bad bunch by the looks of them, few different styles to cover the bases

Thanks, as long as they get some teeth marks in them I will be happy. Will be fishing the outer reef for GT's one day so might get a chance to test the big ones on some decent fish- fingers crossed.

Currently sitting at the Oar bar at cape glouster resort watching he white caps on the water, no boppering for a while yetCry. No fish yesterday in the Prossy river but a couple of nice buck crabs to be washed down with a Corona tonight. Get rid of this wind would be great.
