Just thought I would post this pic up to clearly show the difference between the end plates of a Seascape minor and a Seascape standard -

Start looking as the minors are like hens teeth - pm me if you find oneCry

OK, I'm confused! Which is supposed to be which? Large = major & Small = minor?

Barry, thanks for the pillar lengths, thanks to that I've worked out I have one Major and one STD. An old workmate gave me the Major for stripping and cleaning his baitcasters, it belonged to his late father-in-law, who had it from new, no boxes unfortunately.
Regards, Tony.

Just spotted this great old thread. I have 8 old seascapes of various models and states of repair. One which I dont know much about is a standard size but with green end plates and no star drag or antireverse spool function. It appears to be approx 2.75 to one and is in very good nick, hopefully Barry or one of the other vintage tackle Guru's can shed some light.

Cheers Steve R !!!

Just my opinion, but seeing as it has no anti-reverse or drag, maybe it is a special for competition casting and never meant to be fished with... Ermm

when I 1st started getting serious about fishing, i was given a 6:1 Major (which I still have).
It was worked on by Fred Denning of Port Macquarie, and I was proud to have oil soaked leather drag washers, that were state of the art at the time. (about 1980)
