Mark, all are beautiful, my favorite is the flame maple, we call it curly maple here. I have a piece blocked out to make a muzzle loading rifle stock but haven't started on it yet.
Love the grain in all the beautiful timber lures. Verlon

Chris you have hit the nail on the head about nudes, though there is a skill is in accentuatuing the timber with a good clear coat and a sublte addition of colour. simon

If I ever get started on it Chris. I have had it for several years, but too busy trying to make a better and unique lure. Not much of an excuse. If I don't get started on it soon, time will run out for me. Verlon

Thank you for showing us your beautiful work.
Would it be possible to show a top elevation of some to put them into perspective of depth and thickness etc. for the silky oak lures in particular. Also length would be handy. Are the bibs aluminium? What size and type of wire is used?. Are the silky oak lures floaters or sinking lures. An approximate cost would also be something to know if we could afford to purchase same. Have you any tips re type of varnish or clear gloss to use? Have you got a site where you have particulars of your lures that may be for sale? Gosh, thats a lot of questions. Just viewing these have been a pleasure. Trev |

That 'flame maple' is a beautiful lure. Really like the dots along the belly. A neat simple touch to a nude lure.
Will have to see what sort of Maples are available over here. Is Flame Maple a common timber?
