Hi Everyone,

Well housebound today and was getting a bit peeved with trying to ensure bibs were aligned 100% central to lure body, although going by line of sight was working ok, I wanted to simplify the process for a moulded lure as follows.

Step 1 : Modified lure template to accommodate a guide rail, which is also the same thickness as the omega slot in the bib.

Step 2 : Printed the top section of the lure that the mould will be made from, except changed above guide to be at the bottom. Then cut aluminium plate to be able to use it to position bib central to lure - ( conveniently right thickness for omega slot ).

Step 3 : Drilled holes through the locating pin holes in the printed lure, with the bib held in central position as per above. Then created a bib holding template to ensure bib sits central so could drill holes through this template for future use. So now all my bibs can be placed on template and I know the holes will be drilled exactly where I need them to be for positioning in moulded body.

Step 4 : Made a one size fits all template ( of this style bib ) just for the hell of it. Once positioned the bibs are aligned 100% central to the rail groove.

Yeah I pretty much got lazy, so all I have to do to align bibs in the moulded lure is add some glue to locating / locking pin holes, push in bib, then pins and no more worries about any bibs not being central.

As I said, I was rather bored at the time. Might get some machined up out of steel I think.

Cheers
Steve

Thanks Guys,

Took a bit to get correct degree of bib angles, but after that was just a matter of 3D Printing it.

Nice Steve, all this modern day stuff is so precise -
I have something like this here, made out of cedar (probably 20 years ago) it has a poly-carbonate screen with a center line scribed on it so you can sight down the lure, ,,, WackoGeek
Mine is so clunky compared to your's and it's a one stop setup, lots of room for error in mine so never made the grade.LOLThumbs Up
