G'day Reddy,

The lure pictured looks very similar to a lure I have made by Carl Benadoff from the Ingham area. Will post some photos later for you to compare. Hopefully have the last name spelt correctly but will try to confirm that for you as well.

Regards Truman

Thanks for the info Truman.
I was told it was originally from Ingham.  Look foward to the pics.

G'day Reddy,
Sorry for the late reply but here is the lure I have that is similar to yours. I have included a shot of another of Carl's lures I have I think it is an attempt at a Killalure Flatz Ratz. The red eyes on the lures are different to yours but I think it was just a variation at the time. The spot on the bib is stick on lead weight.
Regards, Truman

Hi Allan, Carl Bebendorf lives here at Taylors Beach. His father was a foundation member of the Hinchinbrook Sportfishing club and used to fish with Vic Mc Cristal. Haven't seen him around for a while, will try to find out if he's still here.

Thank You for the information Ian.
It seems I should come for a drive down your way again soon., and catch up with the crew of lure makers down that way.

Hi I am Karl Bebendorf’s son, he passed away 5 years ago but yes them lures above are his lures definitely. The narrower one was called ‘the magic mullet’ and the deeper bodied one was ‘the hellraiser’. I was young when he made the majority of the lures but I can try answer any questions that anyone has, or say yay or nay to questionable lures possibly made by him. 👍
