Hi all, i really want to say thank you to all the people on this forum who have offered advice and help over the past eighteen months. I feel I have got to the point where I'm making consistently good lures now that have great actions. Theres some deep diving 120mm models top and some 110 mm lures I did, all aimed at just slowly rising/suspending depending on salinity barra lures diving to 1.5-2m. Ive been self indulgent and added the lure name to the side as a contrast pattern in a few colours which came out okay as well. Still some improvements to go but enjoying the process still a lot.

Been making all sorts recently with some cod style lures for fun, even though I'm never likely to use them, also got a couple of poppers nearly done. Been playing with candy paints over foil which gives a nice effect but doubt the fish care much. Gets harder to paint and clear coat due to temp and dampness for the next few months so carving we will go. Got a trip to Pellew Group in July so will test a few out there.

That last one, the blue one, looks great for barra and the reef. They all look great.

I might be in South Australia next year, if so would like a catch up and also see what your friend has done to our old farm.

Finally got around to finishing the new style lure which swims great as well as some other recents. Got a couple of fat scorps with the grooved tail I'm making for next years run off for a mate.

They all look fantastic Riv, the finish awesome. In some ways sad to get them all scuffed up by fish!
What clear are you using on them?

I use envirorex lite. I tried also aluminite clear cast to get a quicker set time but found it didn’t go as hard during the winter months here in SA. Would go off in the cup as leftovers but not as a thin coat. It’s funny, each epoxy seems to have its little quirks and once you work them out it’s seems simple but while learning those quirks it can feel like black magic working against you.
