    Posted: 22 May 2013 at 9:48am
The year was 1973, a teenage Bruce Moller was with his pop Eric fishing Muenga Creek, near Cardwell FNQ.
Eric hooked and landed a nice barra and commented to Bruce, " that's the 102nd barra I've caught on this lure", Bruce said "pop you should retire it before you lose it". Eric promptly unhooked the fish and gave the lure to Bruce to keep.
Here it is untouched after 40yrs., Bruce kindly loaned it to me soas to show all you LL members.
Interestingly, this 3.5inch model is what Eric called his Red Bream design, aimed primarily at Jacks, as against his more common 4.25inch Tiger Sardine shallow model, made to target his prefered quarry, creek Barramundi.
Hope you enjoy? Regards, Seaweed.

That is an absolutely fantastic story about a great little lure and a Pop fishing with his grandson. Good on Bruce for saving the lure! I agree...it should be in a glass cabinet with that story on a plaque.

Top stuff Tony!
cheers steiny

Thanks Tony, just shows how good these were made, 102 sets of teeth and its still in one piece- I bet he used 'boiled linseed' to waterproof them, pretty amazing when I worry about a few sets of Bream teeth ruining mine LOL.
