    Posted: 23 Oct 2021 at 12:04pm

With my reverse shoulder replacement operation going pear shaped and causing the Acromion bone to break, 2021 was never going to be a big year for lure making.  Fortunately, I had got the 2020 Kad Sets carved, sanded and fitted, before my operation, so it just meant gluing and painting them after we got home from our 10,000km half lap of this great country.

I planned to carve the 2021 Kad Sets on our 10,000km half lap. Because the broken Acromion had only just bonded before we left on our trip, in late April, all of the 2021 Kad Sets are carved from my favourite timber, Brown Beech.  Brown Beech is an easy timber to carve but very waxy to sand. I managed to carve 15 of the Kad Sets on the trip, as well as other lures in each place that we stayed.

G'day Mick. I only do 20 Sets each year and they are all perpetually pre-ordered. Had 8 on the waiting list. Now 6, so there's hope!

Very nice Travers, there are some great colours in there.

It’s cool to see the map where you went.
