We recently had the pleasure of a visit from the Barratt family. It was great to finally meet face to face after having chatted with Tom and Nat on the phone and email over the last couple of years
Tom and Nat had a special delivery to drop off that was a little too large to try and send by post; a very special set of nude Gidgee lures carved out of Rosewood and mounted on a slab off the side of the Rosewood stump from northern NSW that was the source of timber for the lures. Tom and Nat have put in a massive effort on this set of lures, and it will have a special place in my new office when I finally get to move into it. The lures are all beautifully hand carved and painted by Tom, each lure is signed by Tom and inscribed by Natalie. Natalie has made the slab used in the display a work of art in itself by hand carving the Gidgee Lures Logo in a cut portion of the slab while leaving the charred edges from the stump which makes for quite a dramatic effect Thanks again Tom and Nat, these are very special and were well worth the wait! |

Different than I had envisioned. It is better than I imagined it would be, and I imagined it would be pretty special
Certainly a very very nice 1 off set. That carving and colour of that backboard is pretty special.

MAGNIFICENT, AWE INSPIRING, MULTI ORGASMIC, the superlatives would run out to describe that display set and the craftsmanship involved in its creation. Truly a work of art, well done The Barrett's................ and Tony (lucky bugger)

I considered your generous offer Jas, and I'll have to say thank you but no as I just finished making my back-up tacklebox in the shed and now have a little space free for some more lures p.s. Plenty of space there so I can reciprocate your generous offer by providing you with storage for those pesky Keith Baker Lures if you like |

Will have to hunt around for those baker thingys tony, I think they are laying round the backyard somewhere, jack was using them in his slingshot last time I seen them.
Good to see your storage is getting sorted, but I still believe they would look better hanging in my shed, lovely piece of work in that timber slab, hope you have it out on display. Nice to see it someday, priceless. jas Jas |
