Gotta say I need to pass on a good word - my son and his mate headed to Moduran for a week of post Uni exams Barra fishing.

They'd saved up some very hard worked coin and pre-booked Jamie Bein, who is one of the local guides, hoping he might be able to get them onto a nice impoundment Barra.

They had a first day fruitless fishing on their own, albeit a couple of crappy catfish and were hoping that some expert guiding would make a difference on the next day, as they had booked Jamie.

Anyway, they checked in with Jamie last night and he was very happy to go, but advised them that the Barra were completely off the bite following recent storm(s) and he simply couldn't guarantee them fish and he felt 'guilty' taking their money Shocked

WTF - the boy's saved their coin, they were however given every bit of advice that may help them when the bite was down. Jamie even spoke to the boys out on the water today while they were doing it hard .... he was right, back at camp it was a very lean day for anglers.

I'm more than impressed, it would have been so easy for him to take the boys $'s - he was 100% ready to take them out but warned them that it was very hard going and they might be better off saving their $'s for another day during the week.

More credibility shown through his truthfulness than anything else and for that Jamie, I'd like to say thank you Clap

Cheers

Rob

Agree with the above but aint it disappointing that having the right attitude towards a couple of young guys who have saved their cash for a special trip is not the norm. I understand guiding is a business and many factors are out of the guides control but still, honesty and decency if your are taking peoples hard earned cash should be expected.

As some of you  know i guide in NT. I always tell clients don,t expect 1mt barra, It just doesn,t happen like that. I do always tell them the best tides conditions etc before they book and leave it up to them. It,s a shame i cant control weather tides and fuel prices and  the fish bitting gods but still have to charge . They like the fact your upfront with them and i have return clients for over 5 years now.
