In keeping with my experimenting with balsa, here are the last few I have knocked out.
Balsa makes a really bouyant surface lure, sits up high in the water and walks easily. The silver one has already accounted for a few bass up to 45cm. Inspired by the American large mouth bass scene, I have tried a few flat sided cranks and square bills. Sizes 50 to 60mm. And a few made from bits of offcut A lot more work to strengthen them than using harder woods, but part of the fun is to try new things |

Thank you for the comments. The spotted dog lure swims exceptionally well, I intend to make a few more. I can't wait to throw it around for a few trout.
