Hey all. My mate has a lure he was showing me and the leading edge of the bib was beveled on the bottom side, sort of like it has been sharpened. Does this add some sort of improvement to the depth it reaches or is it just for looks? Cheers Chris

Theoretically it should have an effect on the diving depth of the lure - less water resistance. I have mainly seen them on thicker bibs. Does your mate's lure have a thick bib?

Yeah mate it is on the thicker side of things. Think it is a bounty hunter lure. He was catching fish on it last trip and I was struggling to get a bite. I was studying it to see if I could make something similiar

Yes my bounty hunters all have beveled bibs and I have some of Ray Murphy's lures done the same way. Remembering now that Ray once said he beveled the bibs on these thicker ones to help with the diving depths.
