Been a while since I have updated this collection. This is most of my timber collection of Bills Bugs. I have a number of fizzers and a few others which are somewhere I hope to put up soon (still boxed from the last lure expo )

I contacted Bill a few months ago and have organised to catch up with him for a bio and stuff. Look forward to that. I class him as a very under rated lure maker. He has been around for a long time and appears to be well regarded by every lure maker I have come across that has met him.

Very nice Dave, I should of mowed your grass that day The yellow one in my pic has a through wire, creased bib and rattle in the body. I have not seen other creased bibs like yours apart from that.

Alistair, I have an old timber Mantis somewhere in my boat box. Fairly beat-up as it caught heaps of barra years ago. If you're a real keen collector of them, it's yours. Better condition than that one top left in your pic, but only marginally LOL.

Would love it. I would either hang it as is or maybe make a request to re build it by Bill. Give me a few makers you like and I will try and return the favour

Barry is the 'Man' and very generous. He sent me down a number of lures which I am still in his debt for. So far it has cost me a rare Whitmore but I still owe him big time

EmbarrassedThanks Tony. Took me a while.

Gary, as I have said before, they are an underrated lure as far as collecting goes so happy to pick up what I can at the moment. Hopefully I can get the time to catch up with Bill and get the good oil on his history.

Very nice collection Alistair, I see now by the pics why I couldn't tempt you with the mint Mantis, you already had one in that colour.

Not sure if it is the same size as the one I have though. Might be able to come to some arrangement down the track for something.

The Mantis lures have such a variety of shapes and bibs. Makes them interesting as most are just a little different than each other in the same length. The little one above is the same length as my other 2 small ones but has a funky side profile compared to them.

Yes, saw them and pounced pretty quick. The owner was not really wanting to sell them as he took a fancy to them but as he bought them for $2.50 each he was willing to part with them for some serious $ as they were going into a good collection. Those chisel nosed ones are old and don't come up often. I am wallet poor but Old Bills Bugs rich Best to buy now when they pop up before they become the next flavour.

Picked up a little Whitmore as well in a colour I did not have.
