I picked up some Brad Smith lures on the weekend, ive had some older ones and they have worked a treat in burrinjuck and blowering dams, so i grabbed these ones for a bargain (10 lures for $15!!!)
Was wondering if anyone had any background info on them? The ones I picked up are plastic Yobbo, Digga and Lil Mate. Cheers, Luke |

Luke,
Brad Smith is a bit of a local identity(and larrikin) on the Gold Coast, He is an old skeg head and fisho from way back. Sorry Smitty if you see this He owns a tackle shop on the banks of Currumbin Creeek and does some fishing guiding as well. The lures were developed back in the 90's to suit local conditions and species, but obviously other fish in other places like them as well as you have found. the Lil' Mate was his original model designed for the Bream population in the canals of the Gold Coast. Then he did the Digger, which was for Flathead, Jacks and Trevally. The Yobbo is the newest model. I think they were originally moulded by either Mac's lures or Lively lures, but I notice that recent models have 'made in Choina' on the packets. Darbs |

Thanks Darbs,
These ones I have dont say where they are made, all it says it Gold Coast - Australian Lure & Tackle Company P/L on the package. There is no logo or markings on the lure itself. |

I've 3 of Brad's Digga lures, great tight action and get down to depth quickly. Has anyone any early timber models?
Cheers Steve |
