This is one of my Herrings I took to Weipa last week. It caught a dozen or so school Mackerel the first afternoon and I made up a short trace as we had a couple of bite offs. The next day in the same place a large Queenfish jumped on. After about 10 seconds it went ballistic with a 6 foot Bull shark on its tail that decided it liked the Queenie more than me. So after following the shark around in the boat I finally got the head of the fish and my lure back. The heads in a photo that I'll post in the Fishing Report soon, regards Chris

Here are some bugs I was given back by the owner. They've accounted for lots of Sooties and a few Saratoga and about 3 years old.

Nothing better than a little bit of history  on a well used lure.

Some of the earlier Lure Makers i think would be astounded at them being valuable collectors items now a days.

Many of the very early lures with their rough paint jobs and little blemishes in the metal /  wood  have a lot of character.

Regards John

That is the real beauty with timber lures, the grain and colour of the timber is revealed. The more fish they catch...the better they look.

Unlike plastic lures which look worse.

You might remember this guy from the "using members lures" thread.
But here is one of Dishleys 'Next Bend' lures that has caught me bass, bream, flathead, a GT, peacock bass, wolf fish, and a chocolate cichlid.
Theoretically it's retired...  But we'll see...

A couple of my old "Teemburra" lures. The shallow one spent 6 years down the Burdekin while the deep diver had a hard one year season up here in the local creeks!!
