Hi Guys,

Planning to produce a surface Cod Walker for a Cod trip latter in the year. The questions that need to be asked

1- Whats the perfered overall size for a surface walker??????????????????????
2- What total weight would you be happy with in a Cod lure.??????????????????

The prototype looks the goods to me but Im unsure on the weight and if its a bit of a overkill for Cod

So far Im looking at 100mm and 45g

Cheers

I cant see 40g being too much , the doofdoc one I have is 30g , mine are 22g . As long as it floats  and walks well .
I like pretty painted sticks

Ive got good cod on poppers.....they love a big dull bloop bloop.....the old jaysea popper made for trevally years ago was a brick, but cod loved its bloop bloop.

ive found they love not so much poppers that skip and spit.....but ones that need force to make them pop under the water to get that bloop bloop sound......those that KnoW  the bloop bloop will know what I mean.....BLOOP BLOOPLOL

Ive got a few I started a while back, will finish them off and I think I will name them....BLOOP BLOOP!Smile
Thanks for the reminder.

WOW since this thread started last year I have learnt a lot to do with Cod size lures.
Cod up to 90cm are sweet on lures of most sizes
Cod over 100cm are another thing. These are beasts that will destroy most lures

My Codmotion is 100mm and 40g and has been a machine on the semi local Cod to over 100cm. But the jointed Codmotion is 150mm and weighting 70g.
I've been working on a ExtremeMotion. 150mm and 150g. This is a massive lure that will require special tackle the fish it. I'll keep you posted
