Thanks for all your advice. This is the majority of his collection. We will definitely be going to expo in Ipswich to seek further advice.

The Lure Expo is definitely a good idea. You will find reputable people there who will help you.
Thanks for showing us the pictures too.

A nice bunch as you would imagine, it would be a good idea to ignore any of the grubs that might be private messaging you with their " very fair offers ".

Gorgeous lures. Agree with Mick. Avoid PM offers like the plague. Enough people obtain lures from sellers unaware of their value. It would be nice to see a bunch of lures obtain their true value on an open market. Expo or public auction for sure. Good luck with it.
Cheers, Danny. |

Hi Emma as mentioned by others there are some very nice lures there, however I would not recommend dragging that many lures down to the Lure Expo.if you are planning to sell them While there are quite a few that are collectable there are also a lot there that would not be considered to be overly collectable by most people and I think you would be taking a lot of them back home. More people in this country collect Australian made lures rather than American or European. Also keep in mind that a lot of collectors collect specific makers only and will shy away from makers they don't collect unless they look to buy them as a trader. I generally don't like to comment on posts like these as I don't have the experience of some collectors on here but there's no way I would take that many lures to the expo and look to sell them, it would do my head in. Just my opinion.

I would have to agree with Lyonel, that is a lot to drag to the Expo. There are some valuable collectables in there, but 80 percent of it is not particularly collectable. Really a tough task to sell.
I believe there is better exposure to more serious collectors here on Lure Lovers than at the Expo, where their attention will be much more divided also. I would look at trying to offload it as a group buy. Maybe auction it on here. You will get the best price for the least hassle. You could split it up into smaller groups of lures, which will be more appealing to most collectors, but the more individual sales, the more work and hassle. Tough decision, good luck, Matt |

I would be happy if you were to PM me photos of lures in say groups of 20. That way I could say yes / no/ maybe to help whittle it down. The maybe ones you could then post up here for others opinions.

As for the values of them, I'd leave that up for somebody else as I have been very surprised lately - including on this post.

As I stated in your previous post, get intouch with Brisbane local Brad Holman. Darby here on LL, I'm sure Brad will give you very ethical advice on values, also he's the gun on identifying lure makers and age.
