Unreal Shane. You are an artist. I got to think on the Dane Hans Christian Andersen and his fairy tale about the Ugly Duckling That turns into a beautiful Swan. Only this little one does not need to transforme ClapClapClapClapClap

Great work,
My ignorance showing again, As a lure What would take it? Possibly a Cod ???   or is it dinner time for a variety of species?
Some one please enlighten this fool as I have no idea.

One of the Canberra guys saw a cod eat a duck just this week.  Was posted in another thread.
When you look at big cod walkers/surface lures - it makes sense that the cod is probably thinking it is eating a bird (or a REALLY big cicada) that is flailing around.

There's a bloke in SA, Chammo's Lures - who makes a "Cod Plukka" that is a diving lure that I have a couple of on the desk display.

I've heard stories of (and seen video in some cases - youtube it) the following fish eating live birds.
Barra
Nile Perch
All kinds of catfish species all around the world.
pike
musky
snakehead
Wolf fish
Arowana
Large mouth bass

Havent even started on saltwater species - so I'm sure there'd be plenty of others.

Cheers

If this duckling was swimming close to a 5+ Pike here I am sure it would be a taste Smile

Les Barlow saw a cod eat a duckling when he was testing his lures one morning last year.
I was fishing near Stanthorpe about 6 months ago and a cod went for a mature size duck. Actually, I don't know if it got it as I heard the boof and water flying everywhere and saw a duck quacking insanely as it took off from the water - I don't know if there was 2 ducks or one.

Awesome picture Shane - love itClap

This one looks like a pike (not even a very big pike)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJuCiqZd14o

This one was apparently in a koi pond - but I very much doubt it was a koi hahaha.
