G’day all, just wondering if anyone has used this etex spray for sealing or even finishing. Cheers Hutcho |

Cheers Blinky, I’m guessing it won’t be as nicer finish as etex lite but might be a damn site easier to apply.

I'd be looking at it as a hardener....I waste an awful lot of Etex when hardening. I'll see how well it soaks in when sprayed on......

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has tried this product as of yet, am guessing the coat wont produce as deep a finish - but very keen to find out the results. Steve |

Spray Etex just arrived yesterday, gave a few prepared bodies a hit.....it soaks in very well raising the grain. Dries in about an hour (in my weather anyway). I gave the lures about six coats (with a good sanding between) until the gain no longer raised. It's comes up glass smooth after that many coats and sanding back.

has anyone experienced the normal E-tex crystallizing? it happened with my original bottles, the large ones unfortunately. but only the resin, not the hardener. I assumed it was due to being stored out in the garage, and the cold winter affected it. so I bought new stuff, and it has been stored in the house the whole time. I just noticed yesterday, that the resin bottle is doing it again.
does it have a shelf life? |

I had 2 litres of it cystallize from keeping it in the fridge......a day sitting in the sun and it was all good. Not sure about a shelf life, some of mine is two years old and as good as the day I bought it.

so yours came back to life, ok. I did read where a guy was putting it in warm water to get rid of the crystals. I just wonder why this stuff I have now went bad. it has always been stored inside. I will try heating it and see if that does anything.

Mike--Most epoxies have a limited shelf life , they usually quote a year--But sometimes they will last 2 or more.
Keep it cool and in the dark, and putting either or both in warm water will bring it back to life, but the crystals are probably an indication that it's going off, another indication is they go a bit darker as they age (just like us). Pete |
