Back Again,

Decided to design something for alignment, and hopefully centralising the bib at the same time ( Yes cheated and used my 3D printer ).

Step 1 : Designed mounting block, with recessed area so lure sits flush on the block, and with a few 0.15mm slots to accommodate either figure 8`s or screw eyes.

Step 2 : Position lure on top of block.

Step 3 : Press lure into recessed area in the block to hopefully ensure eyelets & lure body are centralised.

Step 4 : Apply glue to Bib / Lure, insert Bib into Bib slot, and then position alignment " L " shaped steel sheeting which is the same diameter as both the eyelet's and the omega clip cut in the Bib.

Step 5 : Cross my fingers and hope the damn thing swims straight tomorrow.

I run a very fine line between creativity and insanity.

Cheers

Steve

Glued one up last night and it swam perfect today during testing.

Would have used a laser pointer / leveller if I had one.

Wonder what tonight's creativity will inspire

Thanks Martin,

Have designed a 1 size fits all version to allow for different length / width lures, and bib requirements.

Going to get it machined up out of aluminium, and all the parts are adjustable, locked into place by grub screws.

By the look of the weather, I think may actually get out to do some surface luring this evening - FINALLY

Cheers

River was dead quiet, not even any carp feeding along the edges.

Walked and cast surface lures till well after dark with the only movement being 2 fisheries officers found me after dark ( They had to walk over a kilometre to get to me - after dark ). Thankfully had license on me and they were grateful that I guided them back as apparently they took the long obstacle route

Am seriously contemplating if there would be a demand for that adjustable alignment jig.

As lure makers get older , their eyeballs start to fail them. And some people just can't align up stuff anyway. I think you would have a bit of a market.
