Laurie and Gristy,
I don't know about the 2 painted eye styles, but all the painted eye TM's I have are all Yellow Iris with a Black Pupil, although the Pupil has changed size here and there.

I did email Robert some time back to ask some Q's about lures I have and his reply was quite informative. The lil one at the front centre with the alloy bib, is one of Roberts original Nippy Shrimps, he was quite surprised that one has survived so long in good condition.

Here is the progression on the eyes from paint to a basic colour stick on format, to the current chrome eye. Lure is a Belly Buster

I am fairly sure I have seen them somewhere else.

I just spoke to Rob Taylor about his lures.
He registered his buisness in '96...but was making some lures well before that.
The painted eyes were the first. then he went to stickon eyes 6 years ago.
The reason for the stickon eyes, was a commercial one.
He needed to be able to finnish his lures quicker (cheaper) to compete in a very competative market.

Carl, not a day after Lauries post about 2 different coloured eyes, I saw a pic on ebay of the yellow. white and black eye. I couldn't tell if it was painted or a sticker, but you lures have the same colours.

Laurie, did Rob say which was first, Yell/Wht/Blk or Yell/Blk and where the Red/White/Blk fell in the timeline??

Carl Censored I have been busy since getting home from the saltmine mate, answering and sending emails, teeing up lure payments, checking latest listings, checking selling listing, Dinner, up the shop for milk, drawing some shapes I need to carve.....there's never enough time in the day 60 and I am feeling a burning desire to go Fishing but don't like my chances this month
