Got a bit creative in at this arvo, lost a litre or more of sweat, bloody hot and humid! Tried to make another prawn proto, but kept stuffing them up, so thought about making a big barra lure, this one is big, 180 plus, didnt measure it, but inspired by Leads hi jacker ( my all time favorite barra lure) and also by rebel minnow, bib angle and shape is different to both, and position of the bib is also different, its about a hi jacker and a half in size, this is it so far.....

Nice lures dave, your 180 plus look to have a nice curve to the bottom, and great shape on the other big lure I can just see the blue looks good. Do you weight any to make them less buoyant .
Mark.

Mark, no not weighted, made from huon pine that fininsurance sent me, not overly bouyant. Made for casting at shallow headlands, or trolled over flats. Bouyant is good in these situations.
Clour is deep blue with a little fine metalic added, high sparkle aluminium scales, really bright on a sunny day, red head, because, I painted to many scales over the face, and wanted to cover them up.... On most of my lures, ive been spraying pearl white over the sides of the lure, light coat, but I wanted this one to flash. Cheers for the feed back. Of the 3 big lures im trailing at the moment, I prefer the big gold black one, its my favorite action of all the lures ive made to date. All 3 are slightly different, the white/black one is a little deeper in the body from the gold, the blue one is completley different, and has a nice action, but slower than the gold.
