Might be a gentleman from North Queensland called George Dempster.

Well done Simon. That was the easy part. This scorpion was made by George at least 20 years ago. So it is another Hybrid!

Question is....who painted it?

It could Tim and it fact it was!....Well done. This lure has had a fantastic renovation done on it by Lionel White. I think this lure is better than original. I love the colours!

Much appreciated Lionel! He is a pic of both lures he did for me.

This is how the lures were painted.

Then a sealer was added.

Then the lures were dipped in primer four times.

This is how they ended up.

I got a question, is there some timbers that don't require a sealer and others that do?

All wood will benefit from being sealed, stops your undercoat or prime colours disappearing into the wood.

I coat all my lures with a two pack primer first as it helps all the next layers to bond.
This is my standard regardless of timber type.

I am really enjoying looking at the Hybrids that have been posted lately. I know the collectors may not be as impressed as me because they are not original colour schemes, but the end result of the original quality craftsmanship being restored to their former glory is great. Already to catch more fish. Well done to Steiny, OCD, Lionel and any others that are doing it !!!!
I am not normally one that hesitates to throw a lure a fish no what the lure is for fear of losing or it being demolished, I would struggle to put Lionel's paint jobs in the water, but I probably would in the end after all the were made to catch fish.
Plastic is for storing lures, not making them.

Might be a silly question but are you going to fish them now or do they go to the pool room?

Straight to the pool room. I once fished dempsters but not any more. I just admire them now.

The problem now is where do I place these two in my collection....with the Dempster lures or the Lionel White lures?

Somewhere in between would be my suggestion Clap

Dave, I deliberately left out the purple one because of Lionel's distinct patterning.

Brad, I am storing these with Lionel's other lures I have collected! These have been tagged for future reference.
