He we have the beginning of a line of rods I will be making , first up is a barr - cod rod , this is built on  a CTS 57 msi carbon blank , custon colour  . It is 5ft 6 in , rated 4 to 6 kg , all components are Alps , the skin is reticulated python dyed red . I have not done to much thread work as I think the colours speak for themselfs and did not want to take away from the black and red theme . Prices start at $399.00 .

Matt , how much hurt [ bloody heaps ] I did a dead left test with a 20 ltr drum - 20 kg - I had my son stand on the bow of the boat and slowly bring on the pressure , we got the drum about 1/2 in off the ground before it snapped , I do this a lot , test blanks to beaking point , now you are never going to run 20 kg of drag on a baitcaster reel or spin in the rods line class , what I find is carbon or duel helix blanks are way better than graphite , BUT there is a cost factor to it . also you get very little rod twist , they seem to be a lot more stable in that regard , plus they are very light for the power they produce , one thing that makes me laugh is how they describe rods in fishing mags , they invent a whole lot of new words to discribe blanks , the better sounding the better the rod , bloody b Censored , I have spent a long time studying blank construction and what makes a good blank , there is ways of looking at the butt of a blank to see how good it is being rolled , and there are different grades of carbon , and on it goe's , I always say to a person if you are happy with what you have got good , but put a highend rod in there hands and see the smile on there face , I just laugh .  casting weight , I have no problem with a 20 gram lure , but I do like the lighter weights .

Red Hunter,
every night I wake up in a sweat after fighting 20+kg of fish!!!
Seriously though, I normally run enough drag so the line does'nt touch the rod, I would imagine this rod to be less than 2kg? I don't know much about rods other than don't ask tackle shop sales people about them, they have comunication issues when it comes to rods!!?? I find the cast weight gives me a better idea if it fits my wants ( not always ). At the moment I fish with LOX iridium- lc58110 ( like anyone in world knows what that means.) 4-10kg line rating (surely that would mean at least 3.3kg of drag? No under 2!) Cast weight 10-45 grams( Mmm I don't think so.) Excepting when I let my wrist move into an upright position when casting ( I throw the lure left then ) matched to a Diawa Ballistic reel it's very sweet!
Where were we, thats right Black on red HELL RAISER!!!
So I don't have any children so you can't have one of them, can I interest you in a Kidney!! It's hardly used!!?? They tell me I only need one?
Cheers Matt.
