Little pick handle as some people call them. They pull hard for their size but when they get big they are a lot of fun, if they don’t totally wreck your lure that is.

Got this barracuda (?) yesterday afternoon. Very happy with it. New species for me. That hasn't happened in a very long time.

Good on you Shane. No more buying lures now. They have well and truly been proven as fish takers now.

Great trip Ducky. Been drooling over your photos on Facebook. And yes, even though I’m in a great area, I’m still jealous of you.

Cheers guys.
No problem PJ.
I think all the jacks I got were decent size.
The one on the Kuttafurra was probably the biggest - estimate mid 40s.
Based on the info I had about the area, I expected to catch more numbers, but smaller - so I was pretty happy with how that ended up.

I had a trip planned to PNG for this year, but that fell apart.
So fairly last minute I jumped on a trip up to Kuri Bay that a mate from another website was guiding on and had a space.
A few pics of LL members lure highlights:

PJs Lures always catch fish.

Deep River Lure - and my first ever Mangrove Jack

The same lure also landed my first WA/Kimberley Barra, more jacks, spanish flags, a cod...  Before another barra decided it wanted to keep it.
I hope to receive more pics from guides and be able to grab some stills off gopro, but we will see...

Kuttafurra Lures

I'm baffled this can happen and not get some hook in it...

Esoteric Lure in my barra

It was a good trip with some good little sessions at times.  But a lot more use of bucktail jigs than timber lures.
But the highlight for me was just being up there and seeing that country.  Of course - pictures do not do it justice.

Well lets keep this awesome tread going.
So here I go :
Some time ago Mal Par send me some off his Lures.
There was a Grub Lure that I promissed him to get a Danish Sea Trout on.
I have had some night trips to my local stream Trendaa, where there have been  interest in the Lure from the Trouts. some boffs, turns and hits, but tonight was the day I manége to land a nice legal one at 44 cm.
Must admit i was a bit stressed, as before this one, there was a Trout I would say 60+ boffing the Lure when I let it drift down stream, as a cast was no option. Tried to foll it a couple off times more, but no no mate I have you figured out Unhappy LOL Even went back about an ouer later, but still no no Smile
Well still very happy to be abel to make this report Big smile

Yes, Marty is like an entire one man fishing band, awesome thread, just like this one. Big smile Threads like these show where the tyres meet the road.

I'll never get tired of seeing lures made by our talented craftsmen and beginners alike catching fish and having fun! Cool

I know Marty keeps us updated on what he catches fish on in his thread - but I miss this one...

Had some meetings in Darwin last week so I stuck around for the weekend and caught up with mates.  (It's handy when your mates have a few decades guiding between them...)

I only took about a dozen lures with me, which is unheard of!  But I caught fish on the only 4 I ended up throwing for the day.

Deep River - Chovy

Kuttafurra "Penguin"

And a couple of PJs.
Note the trout pattern one is the one I broke on a fish on the first cast years ago, and Fugly repaired.

Yes you need to go fishing Nicho.. Floods and life don't help.
The waters rarely see a Nichos, so took the dots for a walk again and never disappointed.

Have caught Tilapia on small plastic grubs before, but never on a hardbody diver. Bloody big one too and smacked it hard. 50/60cm range.

Of course the bass loved it too

And a small one on a Richard Lee's that looks like it has had a scuff from over a dam wall.

Back tossing the popper around again this morning. I got a little  tacker of a GT of about 35 cm that had the hooks in the gills and died- no matter I know someone who like baking the little ones whole. I also got a 40 cm GT and dropped one close to 60 cm just metres from the shore.

A 33 cm and a 55 cm giant trevally on a Mark A Lure- barra pop made by Mark Andrew’s while I was in Innisfail this morning. HJK got a 35 cm GT on one of his poppers- no photo though.
