    Posted: 10 Dec 2017 at 1:52am
Hi

Good Evening!!

Trying something new, made first prototype of suspended baits 70mm length, 26 gm with twisted eyes. Tested today in my home bath tub work as expected, suspend between 70-60 degree, fast sinker with head down and action from the tail.

Please give your views, suggestions and comments so that i can improve upon.

Thanks, Regards
Raghubir

It certainly looks the goods, got some serious hardware on it!! As with most prototypes, some experimenting with towpoint position, weight placement, etc, may be necessary. But you may be lucky first attempt. Are you going to be trolling the lure or for deep jigging?

The action of the lure looks good for first attempt. You can try small changes in future models and see how they work. You can move the towpoint further forward for a narrower action and a higher speed. Cheers Ian...

Hi there, it's looking goodThumbs Up Always remember when playing with suspending lures and tank testing that if the lure suspends in freshwater it will most probably float in saltwater. A lot of guys new to making suspending lures forget about saltwater having a higher density than freshwater, just something to keep in mindWink
Cheers Warren

Looks good, but the size of those hooks may cause them to link up? If so, use smaller hooks, would probably also help give more action to the lure Thumbs Up

Hi

Good morning!!

Yes Martin you are true, hook size I need to put small. While holding the bait on my hand one time both the hooks got entangled. Good observation Martin, thanks.👍

Warren you are true, I did test in my home bath tub and water is desalinized, the actual test will be in sea water which I plan to do this week end. Could you suggest any option like increasing the weight which may over come the buoyancy. Thanks for the tips , will definitely keep it mind.👌

Dave thanks for your encourage which keeps me going.😊

Thanks & Regards
Raghubir

Raghubir, if the smaller hooks causes the lure to float to much you may have to drill a hole in the belly of the lure and insert a lead weight. The placement of the lead weight and how much to use may then affect the action of the lure so you may have to experiment with it until you  get the action you want.

Thanks, Martin for the solution for the anticipated action of the lure after changing to small hooks.

Regards, RaghubirThumbs Up
