    Posted: 27 Jun 2019 at 4:51pm
Hey folks

I have a good number of scorpion shape lures from a bunch of different makers here, there and everywhere.
I'm not going to try to list those here - because I'll miss some or what not.  But the makers will know if I've bought them from them I guess.

I want more, though.
I'm looking for anyone who makes a few scorpion style lures to drop me a note.

Or even anyone who has stuff made by others that they'll part with.  Although I'm not really interested at "Collection" prices...
See how we go.

Sorry if I am late getting back to anyone.
I am just getting through the 000,000,000,000,000's of messages I have received.
That's right...  None.

Nobody else is knocking out scorps?  Damn.

I have one Woods Scorp which is a gem. I'd probably nab another. Turn up to a definite if it's another size.

It's worth the venture to make a few, learned tons about lure dynamics from the ones I made. Probably my favorite style lure besides the crays, extremely versatile little buggers.

Not sure how a true aussie scorp swims or looks like aside from pictures???

Here are a few

They are a great shape, as you say very versatile with different bib shapes and sizes covering a lot of applications... Hence my obsession I suppose.
I hope I'm not starting to collect them

For me they have one drawback, they cast very poorly. Sometimes its like holding up a paper plate in the wind. Other than that, these are the end all to be all. Newell really created something special with this shape.

I whittled my collection down, trees and rocks are unbiased lure collectors...

If only my time was spent training an otter to fetch?

I wasn't sure if you had one of mine or not...
I did make an extra large size one for a mate...I don't think he's game to use it.

Al they look good. Very interesting - like the eddy's stinger.
But I think for now I better stick to outright declared scorpion inspired stuff.
Otherwise this will get out of hand LOL

You can have this one if you wish. I think it was a Bebendorf blank that I used to try out a new paint scheme.

Ducks, it's a strange lure, very light timber and the bib seemed way too big!! But, after I painted it, I tested it in the tank and actually swam quite well... Had to tune the towpoint but it should catch fish. I'll send it down, got a bit of paint separation as I painted it way too quickly. Do you still have the same work address to send it to? Send me a message if otherwise... Cheers Ian...

Ian you're right. It's a weird one. Nice shape. Clean lines. Then the very long  slightly asymmetrical bib.
Smashing job on the resto work, too!

Well most of the old lures are still packed up from moving a couple of months back. Some unpacking still waiting on new cabinetry to be installed.
But some newies coming up to go up with them.
As Borat says, very nice.
