Hi all. Went for a solo fish up the North Johnstone yesterday. All up managed a dozen Sooties, 1 Jungle Perch and a 43cm Jack. A couple of the Sooties were mid 30s. The JPs were there but not overly aggressive. The Sooties were on the job and in numbers. I would have had 15-20 jump offs. The water didn't get over 21 degrees. The jack came from a deep snag i dropped a Zman Swimmerz into. One other Sootie and JP on the plastics and the rest of the Sooties on one of my Tigers. Most of the Sooties came from the shaded area's in the shallows. Also christened my 4-7kg North Fork custom rod by ACM Customs (Arron MCKELL) from Innisfail. Hopefully the weather should heat up in the coming weeks and so should the fishing. Hope you enjoy.

Some nice action there Chris! Love getting up in the freshwater. Smile I had my first session in ages the other night on the full moon, only got two Sooties and a Tarpon, but it was great to wet a line... All my fish were on a small Rapala Skitterpop…

Been years since I caught a sooty or JP.

Would be great to be able to stock JPs in my local dam.
