got a bit more done on him,Cut a paddle bib out of ally in the shape of a viking longboat prow and etched it like an early norse Dragon head carving.I dont know if the lure will swim with this but i guess we'll find outLOL,i can always do a shield shaped one if it doesnt work.Started the paint ,airbrushed then hand painted bits like his eyes(took 7 tries to get them sort of right still not 100% happy with them)also handpainted his beard which took a long time ,still have to paint his hair.getting there though!

that's no how ye make porridge!

It DOES look like me. I’m just binge watching “Vikings” in this C19 lockdown as well.

Seeing as it looks so much like me- would it be conceited if I said I love it?

I can see Martin Horror head now, standing at the front of his Viking vessel,
stroking the hand carved fugly lure that adorned the bow of his majestic ship
as they entered the bay to Britain.
His sword raised above his head, he ordered his fellow Pagens to row, and row hard to shore.
The battle of Hastings may of just ended! but rumour had it that the new
KING, "William the Conqueror" had a large collection of lures stashed in an unguarded Monestry which had now come into site through the thick mist.
Horror head was frothing at the mouth with anticipation.
There may be more "FUGLYS" in there than any man has laid eyes on! he claimed.
ROW men ROW! he screamed in a chilling almost delirious voice, his big hand stroking the figurehead of the now fast moving vessel.

                           to be continued.

Another masterpiece Chris! Although a bit tame considering your previous work, shocked there are no battle scars and the like? Joking aside, that is a unique lure.

I got a bunch of books for carving caricatures collecting dust somewhere, started out with good intentions to learn those techniques.

Did Horrorhead ever regrown his beard and hair after that shearing a while back?

All I can say is I kick myself everytime I've cut my long hair off, it was Easier to maintain with no frequent haircut cost. Especially now with this lockdown. The beard is another story entirely....eating becomes a chore and people seem to think I'm some wizen senior.

I see a resemblance here Martin, any kin of yours

Meant to comment on this, delightful prose there Nicho. Seems you certainly have a way with word economy like the late Elmore Leonard....Now where is are part 2!!!? And what of his faithful Goat, err, I mean steed?? Eh??

Martin- There is so much I wish to glean from the art of FUGLY, you are most definitely an adroit carver with a feral imagination. Looking forward to future projects with you.

Sorry again Martin as I cannot help but blend the semblance of goats with you. Every time I think of that post that image of a sheered sheep comes up. Hopefully the lures I am working on for you will ease this solecism?
