After a lot of trying I finally caught a fish on one of my lures!
I know it's only a tiny Spangled Perch but a fish is a fish!
They can only get bigger from here.

That's awesome mate.
My first catches were little trumpeter and stinky pike - so I'd take a spangly any day ha.

A better picture of the "Frog".  I think it looks a bit ugly but at least it works.
My shapes are pretty random.

I made a stencil for these ones. A shallow and a deep version for down the Gold Coast.

Nothing wrong with those shapes. ClapThumbs UpAnd I reckon I could smash the coral trout on that first one if the casting weight was there.

A quick 45 minute flick over the back fence resulted in 2 more Spangleds on the "Frog".
I'm beginning to get scared of losing it. I'll have to make another to replace it.

(The other one flipped back in the water while I was trying to get a photo.)

I spooked a fox stalking a mob of Black Ducks tucked up against the edge. No time for a photo.

That's the plan mate. One of my favourite natural colours for freshwater. Plenty of Spangleds and Boneys in the Lake.
The green one is because there is moss growing on all the rocks (and turtles). Another natural colour.
The big one is for the Gold Coast. Apparently they like bright colours. Strange creatures those Rust Water fish.....

Still a confirmation of your lure working though, and besides, it takes skill to catch little fish on a lure not much smaller then it.

Both were caught at exactly the same spot 10 minutes apart and yet were very different in colour.
