My first topic on this forum. I have a display of Wiggle Warts I've collected.
These are all pre Rapala. The bottom row are all SP models. V1 starts at top left.
The two wholes are the two I don't have yet. V44 and v130. Maybe someday I'll fill
them.
I am interested in the SP12 and SP13 Storms two Australian warts . If you have pics
or info please post it.
Thanks
Tim
ps: I've really enjoyed reading the post and seeing some of the different lures. The Nudes
are great.

Hi Tim, and agree with all the others - top collection.
Any chance you can post up a photo of the missing 'warts' - colours are easier to identify than model numbers - especially for us old heads... wadey |

This one is v44 Blue Mackerel
This one is v130. Hard to see red on back. Met Copper/Flour Red Back 1988
Just thought I'd show you a really rare one. The v22, only five known to exist.
Demo baits never went retail. They got out of Storm around time they moved to Mexico
for production.
I'll put a pic of my boxed set in another Topic. 170 different colored warts in 284
different boxes.

Hutto, both rings to me look pre Rapala. Rapala paint on the original series
has a dull finish, flat looking. The rings have bright finish. It could be because
they are sales demo rings.
The left side is post Rapala, the right is pre Rapala. Same baits v59 top v86 bottom.
It's a bad pic, but you can still see difference. Top right is red label bait , bottom is blue label.
You can see the flat finish.

I have quite a few old battle scarred warts from the 80's. I even managed to stash away a Storm catalogue from the days they were distributed in OZ by Corrico. Here is a low res scan of one of the Wart pages.

I decided to go ahead and post a pic of boxed set I have. At last count 170 different warts in 285 (red, blue, snap) boxes. There are red /blue label combos . Red in front blues behind. Blues in front indicate no red labels boxes in that color.
Storm didn't keep records on colors. All I've got to go on is sales magazines and collectors like you guys.
There is a reflection on left from glass door.

The v series first came out in 1975. As near as I can tell 20-27 colors. Some
clear bills. By 1981 Storm had 43 colors, v series 30 of them. 1989 , 81 colors
and I think all red labels.
I've been collecting for about two and half years. I started looking for one color I was having
pretty good luck with (only had one and found it). It just took off from there. I guess I got hooked.
Wish I started years ago. Bass Pro here in town sold all there warts for $1.50 a piece, then put
Rapala warts on display.
Hope that helps
Tim

The earliest I have been able to fine adds on the lures is around mid to late 80's,seems to be very hard to find any earlier adds prior to this time in the fishing magazines. regards John

The catalogs I've got are 81,91,92and 97. I've seen 1978 catalog. The 30 year aniversary
catalog has the best info in it. Not alot but best I've found.

Maxblue, I got these pics last week. Thought you may have seen them.
The middle right and bottom right are v-sp109 AYU. The bottom left in red box is v80 Iwana.
Top left and bottom left (no box) is an AYU but don't know number. Top right no info. The middle left
is v156 Metallic Yellow Clown. Again I've been told five were made for Japan. These five in picture
all were ordered by Popeyes Sporting Goods in Japan. These could be the five for Japan. Popeyes is like a Bass Pro Shop in U.S.A. There are warts labeled BPS ASST. out there. I have some.
I have the AYU and the Popeye Clown wart.
