Anybody happen to come across some Fresco Lures made in Melbourne early 60's
Arranging for photos from Outdoor Mag 1963, appear to be all metal lures. I am positive there will be some help ID some unknowns, as the lures are named in the ad. Regards John |

John, yeah I have a few knocking around the collection. I particularly like fish shaped metal with the adjustable fins for making them spin either way.
I think (but don't take as gospel) they were part of the Sydenham stable Brad |

It appears Fresco bought Sydenham or vice versa Although most, or all of mine are marked with the Sydenham name. A time line 1963 I fine that the Scampi had a far bit of metal work put into it unless they were cast. Interesting for the collector at least at this particular time only two colours available , handy to know. Brad it appears you are right on the money Thanks Barry I think the only one I have not got is the Chameleon Is there another marker making a complete Chameleon with two blade encased in the lure I bided on a couple recently , but missed out. I put up the Tubby recently on LL, I thing that was all that was recorded on the lure. Have now acquired a magnifier eye piece to check the finer detail, will check it again. So many makers/manufacturers have come and gone since the 60's /70's Regards John

Tubby and Tak
Tubby has no reference to Sydenham where as Tak does. Regards John |

Interesting ,I wonder if mine was made prior to the merger. The Tubby stamping/printing appears to be the same.

Could be the other way around John with Sydenham markings indicating earlier ones - I have found a few in Fresco packaging marked Sydenham too which have the stamping.
