I still would like to know what John Ellis had to do with it ?
I have not seen one in the flesh would like one but not at that price Confused
But I suppose you can place it next to a Newell Boxed Kadaitcha in collector value now !  And what does that value the timber Stumpy,s at ?

Great lure and great for the collectible market Big smile

From what I have heard they are a very special, very rare lure.John Ellis only had a few made and presented
them to friends and people who had helped him in the establishment and promotion of his business.

The one that I thought I had a chance of getting a few years ago came with a personal letter of appreciation

from John and you would have thought that the seller of this lure could have been expected to have a similar

letter although there was no mention of it in the listing.

I know I don't always follow the populist view but I personally would value these WAY ahead of the special

Kadaitchas which were purely made on a commercial profit basis.

Cheers,Jim

thanks simon certainly an unusual lure , quite stunning Clap2 grand is a lot of money although the person that brought it may think that it is an investment for the future or just wanted it bad , good luck to him or her , pearcey

Thanks Jim for that info, I never knew he had it made with a letter of appreciation  for a very few close people.
Its great we all collect different lures and for different reasons as it would be very boring if we all collected the same thing.

But I have to lean on the side of a  "Timber" Hand made Kadaitcha   lure , from the hands of an Iconic legend in the Australian lure making history.
I don't think my reference of the Kad next to the special stumpy was correct, sorry Jim i should of used something else.  But an Australian made timber lure to a China made plastic lure was what I meant with out being rude.  And you have given me the answer !! Thanks .

Cheers Tony

I thought only a few when I put up my previous post but reading an early Tackle Rat column last night I see that Frank mentions 50 of this lure made and I would expect him to be right.                                               Cheers Jim
