Barry
Educate me mate.
If it is not a swimmer , I take it there is some reason why it is a collectable despite being crudely carved.
Am I missing something?

The start of a slippery slope captain, seekeritis is a terrible affliction.

Sounds intriguing, I know I'm not adding to the knowledge here, just seeking...

Wayne,
it's the background of the seeker that is it's alure (pun intended)
The original maker Ken Hendry is no longer with us(GBHS). The seekers had a reputation of being quite effective even though they look rough, and are as tough as the brick ablutions oft referred to.

Ken used to pick up offcuts from coffin makers to carve his lures from, preferring to use cedar where possible. After Ken passed away, another local lad carried on with Seekers and continued with the timber, before recently switching to moulded polyurethane foam to make production easier.

There are enough models and subtle differences in the range to make them eminently collectable, to the person with such a bent. I myself have a few, but I know some who have enough to raise the water levels in the murray if the were all swum at once LOL

A thorough and very comprehensive  answer to the question from  the philistine from the tropics!

I like the coffin offcuts bit !

Nice also to recognize and hold aloft the name and skills of a past/passed master carver.

Thanks for taking the time to upskill me.

cheers

The chances of me finding more Seekers and catching Seekeritus are about as good as the Cockroaches winning best of 3.
