I got that one too when the old-man stocked the farm dam with yellas and bass. Lots of useful info.

This is a pic of the hi-tech way we used to catch fish from the dam in the 80's.
Bamboo rod , fixed length of line, two bobby corks, and a hook baited with worms.

note: Fish would not bite without the angler being dressed in the latest trend.

is that a tandanus catfish on the far right?  had one for years in my fishtank. greedy guts that love sifting through the crap on the bottom. would have been a good fight. massivly powerful tails which they use on smaller fish.

Yes, that is an Eel-Tailed Catfish (Tandanus Tandanus). We call them "Jew" down this part of the world. Very nice eating fish & a powerful fighter. Grew up catching these guys so one of my favourite fish.

Interesting I think there is a Victorian booklet out from the 60's just cannot find it at the moment.
