Hi Pearcey

For me it is the hardest of any questions prices vary so much and as I have never bought one... it really comes back to how much you want it.

I am sure one of the reidy collectors will give you their thoughts.

Cheers Jas

I don't have much of a clue on their value Dave. I would like one but I don't fancy trying to hazard a guess.

Have to be in the harder than timber Boomerangs cat.Mollers are reasonably common in FNQ and that reflects on the price.
Newells are reasonably common down south but have a bigger clientele wanting them.
As most have said it depends on the buyer.
There certainly appears to be a lot more southern collectors cashed up for high end lures.
I also do not know anyone who has bought a Timber Reidy's and I have never seen one for sale anywhere.

I think they would go for a lot more than that , you just don't see them .There are so many great lure collections in this country and there is less than 20 timber Reidy's out there .

Sticko, be interested to know where you get that, 'only 20 out there' info? I think Barry has half that number on his own LOL.

I may have half that Tony however the rest out there are sparse.Time and time again I have asked the question on different forums for timber Reidy's and all to no avail as yet.
I know 6 other folks with Timber Reidy's and the total is still very low.

Just a question and would like your opioun .

Does rareity equal dollar value , to me not in all cases.

Not being a north QLD collector as much as a New England would not pay $200 .

Just a question that's all !

While mine isn't pretty , $200 would not buy it . That is only a reflection of what it is worth to me though .

Well put Barry that was the point I was trying to make , there maybe more than 20 out there but were are thay then .The amount of Lure collecters these day you would think more would have shown up by now . Barry has around 10 , Mick has 1 & I have 3 and Barry knows of a few more so they are few and far between .

The value of a lure depends largely on how much the prospective buyer wants the lure. I am always in the market for certain lures and would be prepared to pay well for a lure in any condition and of course more for one in good condition. Lures that I like are more common in Eastern states and since they are not much used in SA the chances of going to a garage sale and unearthing some gems as regularly appears to happen is very remote. More likely to see berley floats for garfish or 5 for $10 squid jags.  This means that I am in a situation where I have to bid for lures and be prepared to pay for what I want and let me assure you I dont have a lot to spend but a passion for just a few older lures and for some of the great lure makers that frequent this forum. I have bid some big dollars for lures that have been "commented on herein" but all I say is that my opening statement stands.
