So here it is...I have finally got my lures out of boxes, and up on display!
After much thinking, I ended up combining a few ideas into one and have come up with this... Every lure on this setup is Aussie, and it was only until I was half way through putting the lures up that I realised this...so I stayed with the Aussie trend! Top two rows are my Knols lures. Third row is East Coast Lures and a few Lively Lures. Fourth row is Richos, Koolabungs, and Garra lures. Fifth row is Maree Lures, and more Garra lures. Sixth row is Craft Lures and Twitchy Lures. Seventh row is Oar-Gee. The slab holds my Mudeye lures...Oh, and two 3-G Lures at the end. The posts and slab are both Australian Oak timber. The book shelf on the next wall holds those lures that are special to me. Top shelf holds my RMG lures Second shelf is all of my Crazy Crawlers Third shelf is a mixture between Jitterbugs, Hula Poppers and Heddon Tigers. I found the carving of the Saratoga (not exact, but very similar) in an antique store...unfortunately they couldnt give me any more information about it. It weighs about 10 kilo alone. I hope you enjoy the pics! Leigh. |

Hi Leigh,
Top display, kinda makes it all worthwhile when you can sit back and 'view' them all. Just a small tip - I notice the horizontal wire, droops a tad in the middle from the weight of the lures, so nip over to Bunnings/Mitre 10 etc and buy yourself some 75mm or even 50mm (yes that tiny) turnbuckles and locate on one side. When you tighten, be careful you dont pull the vertical boards inwards - maybe a horizontal brace at top/middle.base !!!! OR send down every 2nd row to me for safe storage cheers wadey |

Just guessing about the saratoga, It could actually be an arrowana from SE asia, chinese consider them good luck, and carvings can be found in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia,s chinese community's. It looks great, I'm off to Indo next'week, might look for one myself,!
