Hi, I am heading to Townsville in sept for my young blokes u18 hockey state championships and I am staying at the backpackers near Ross creek just wondering if it is worth taking some lures and buying a telescopic rod? Any info muchly appreciated. Bkool.

yeah I flick in ross creek between shifts all the time. its heavily fished but theres always fish about. its a direct route to the ocean so you get a wide variety in there.barra jack bream estuary cod flattys queenies coota god knows what else. grab a tide chart or use willy weather online. plenty of rocks groves and where the pipes flow through on the incoming or outgoing is great fun.
