Here are my current Kingfisher Mantis Timber collection. Mike and Stu make these at Inverell although for a while now they have been injection moulded. just goes to show it only takes one lure to start a collection. I picked up a small one from the shop in Glen innes. After an email to the guys at Kingfisher and a phone call I ended up going back to the shop and picking up the rest of the timber ones he had. Then a trip to the Kingfisher factory and one to Fishing Tackle Aust at Coffs to raid some oldies left and I am well and truely hookedLOL. Most of what I have is mint on card.

The ealiest ones I have are the more rounded stylelures which have been hand painted on bodies and eyes. These were made around 99/2000 for Fishing Tackle Australia to see how they would go. The jointed one has the original folded bib where the others have the later style curved bibs. The boys actually changed the bibs over in FTA because the folded ones started to straighten out on a couple. Sadley they did not keep any of the old style bibs to change them back.

As they proved successful (well enough I guess to go into production) they changed the body shape slightly in the small ones and also made the larger ones up to 120mm for Barra and Cod. These have been hand painted then had the pattern stamped onto them by machine (Interesting to watch and they are happy to show you around if you go to the shop)  I am slowly getting closer to a full collection of these later ones and once done will set them up on a display board ( a big one)
