Early last year my father-in-law gave me 'permission' to rat through his tackle boxes and take some of my old lures.  Some of these date back to when Peter Newell first showed me how he made his lures -1989.

In the New Year, I was visiting my parents, at Pambula, and found my brother's old tackle box. Bingo! Big smile  A Scorpion, Mole R, small Boomarang, Trout, Macleay Minnow and a couple of my Marshall's.

This small Boomerang is looking a little worse for wear, but it reminded me that I did make a few of them.

Cheers

Debbie, I was making these lures while I lived in Tenterfield, but I can't remember selling any. I could be wrong, but I'm sure that I made them for my friends & I to fish with.

In the photo, below, the gold & green lure, with the smaller bib, would have been the first one that I made. There's one with a Little Digger bib in, but the larger square bib is the one that most of the lures would have in them.

I started making them again, as part of a 'retro set' and named it Mole R only a few years ago.

Cheers

Hey Travers are you likely to ever make these again?

Sel

Some of the Expo Cod Packs (4 lures per pack) will have Mole R, Boris, Cod, Digger, Booma and Kaditchas in them.

When I moved from Tenterfield to Maitland, I had to rationalise the number of lure models that I made (because I had less spare time to make lures), so I stopped making Cod lures and concentrated on the Bass and saltwater lures.  The Cod lures are bigger, use more timber, cost more to make in $ and time and I had moved away from Cod country.

Now that I'm retired, I may reconsider but not in the near future.

Cheers

Travers
