Apparently the lure is hand carved then coated with fiberglass over the outside.I will have info shortly as I have spoken to Bill recently and have to follow it up.

That's similar to how Les Barlow does his - Les coats his lures in fibreglass resin to waterproof them before they are painted, seems to make them very robust. |

George it appears that your big blue lure is an R C Lure made by Ron Wood of South Australia.

Most op the big lures not only have a resin coating but several layers of thin fibreglass tissue in an attempt to toothproof them. Sorry the only big lures left are somewhat the worse for wear.

Barry have attached a pic of some of the other lures I have dabbled with. I am in the process of getting a photo of a lure I made for a mate in WA which is quite a lot larger than the big orange one. Billj

Im not sure if this this post is still active or if it is dead but I was blousing and noticed it.
I have found it very interesting in as much as it has identified a lure I have had for some time with no idea of its origin I now know that it is a Bill Jackson Identical to the Silver Brown Lure hanging on the left side of the 3 lures pictured above Im prety pleased as it is in new condition. Cheers Kimo |
