A few lures I have decided to take with me on my adventure. There appears to be lots of Sardine,Herring type fish in the Saltwater going off my last trip over there so have picked lures to suit and a couple of ring ins to give them a scare.

My Missus will come over in July for a couple of weeks and by then I will have a good handle on what is working best .A lot of the fishing in the ocean is Downrigger trolling for salmon.
Check out Quest Alaska Loges at Sitka. That will be my base.

A mate in California is the Executive Director of the Ag Teachers Association. To thank him for 20 years of service, the Ag teachers shouted him a holiday in Alaska on a floating house, in a remote bay (Simpson Bay). A float plane delivered them to the floating house and delivered supplies and bait each day and took their catch to vacuum pack and freeze.

Within an hour of arrival, Cathy had caught this Halibut (about 50lb) within 200 metres of the house.

Jim sent a few other photos

This is the crew who the trip was organised through (for those wanting to follow in the Captains footsteps)   http://www.alaskawilderness.com/

Cheers

Travers
