For me, i use a number of different lures. Not all are timber. - My own homemade (divers - slow rolling with a few pauses and twitches) - Buzzbaits - Betts/jig spinners - soft plastics I mainly use timber lures as much as i can, and try to use other members timber lures that have been given to me. If i still dont get any fish, i just enjoy the scenary..hahaha

Different sort of Bass over here but this has been my go to lure for years now. A cheap plastic lure (generally the only plastic lure I carry) that out performs all others and has been nicknamed the "Yellow Devil" by friends who have seen it work so often when the fish appear shut down or just out performs all others when they are biting.

Easily picked up from any Big W/K-Mart store.
I'm guesssing you also change the split rings and trebles on them? Their trebles are terrible.

For years my favourite bass lure was a medium Cotton Cordell Big O. Then I discovered it was more a confidence thing with whatever lure I was using.

Talonz Little Claw twitch version has produced the best results of any of my baits. Though the lure was designed for Muskie and Pike Big Bass have been all over it as well. We have both Largemouth and Small mouth Bass In Michigan. Here are two pics we took a couple years back. The first was a real fluke. Two bass both about 17 inches ate the same lure at the same time and both got hooked long enough for the picture. They were released. The lure is not listed on my website but is called a shallow Rippin shad. The second fish was from Michigans Upper peninsula. A chicagon Lake Small mouth about 20 inches. Took a 6.75 inch Talonz Little claw twitch bait.

A favourite bass lure has to be a surface lure. I started with Jitterbugs and Crazy Crawlers but now I like the Taylor made paddler and similar. Regards, Ken.

these are my current favourites ,top to bottom: Nicho's maulers "troutsnax" for shallow river Bass, next two are Fugly trutta butters with deep bibs which I use for Maroon dam bass in 4-5mtrs of water,Fugly trutta butter standard for Dams and rivers, last two are $2(including postage) non rattling vibes from China same size as a Glassy and work pretty good. I also use the G'vibes like Alistair posted up they work nearly as good as a Jackall and at $6 each good value.i also use members lures extensively and happy to say they all produce |

This lure has been around for years and been the undoing of many cod.
There are many colours available but the two main colours I use are
black and white. When the moon is out or there is a bit of light on the
water I have found the white jitterbug attracts more interest and on
dark nights the black seems to do the job.

I had a new brown wee wart pre Rapala days 1995 and got smashed by a huge bass at lostock one night in 2012. Lost the lure. I don’t think I could have turned that fish.
Anyone willing to sell a couple of wee warts as they are my fave looking lure.

Come to think of it, most bass anglers I know including myself fish for fish where we think they'll be biting and have favorites for each. Most fish of any species I catch - including bass - are on small, soft plastics rigged on light jigs. The only difference is the species you refer to as bass as compared to our smallmouth and largemouth freshwater species.
