We've been using the Zerek type prawns for awhile now with great success but lately, when using them at night, I've been missing a lot of strikes!!  Had a "lightbulb" moment and added a stinger treble... Tried it out two weeks ago on the new moon and got a 51cm Barra but forgot to take the camera.. Embarrassed Big moon tonight and I've just returned with my captures recorded!! A 60cm Tarpon and a 50cm Barra off the beach on the flood tide..

Good stuff. I will at times thread the eye of the treble onto the single hook and embed one treble point into the plastic which leaves a nice 2 hook point rig sitting underneath which catches the short strike as well. Great for sandy area, not so good with snags.
Alistair.

Cool and the fish would be all over that Fysshe and what size weight can you use before it affects the action ?

I have a heap of those weighted hooks in different sizes if you want them to trade for a lure or two?

Cheers
Dave

The action is all in the tail Dave and shouldn't be affected unless the stinger is placed there! I use the weighted hooks supplied with each lure and I don't think there would be a problem going up a size or two.
