When I gave my wife the Number 1 "Tenterfield +25 years" collector set, at Xmas, she decided that we needed somewhere to display some of my lures and the lures from Aklure, Flapper, CircleV and others.

I've still got 6 years of Kaditcha Sets sitting in a cardboard box! Confused  and my old original lures stacked together in a couple of drawers.  Not to mention a some original old Newells, a couple of Flapper Sets, many Aklures, many of Verlon's lures, lots of DDads, some original, early lures from Bryan Power and David Poole.  Then there are many lures from LL members, just starting to make lures.

Saw this cabinet for sale, on Gumtree, at Wallsend and picked it up today.  Looks very old and looks like it's made of Aust Red Cedar, but I'm not too confident that it is cedar.

There are only 3 shelves, so I'll have to work out how to display some lures vertically or fit more shelves.

That is a sensational looking cabinet Travers! great pickup.

I have found timber stumps found at dams, or driftwood found at the beach, gives good elevation in a cabinet, and compliments the lures nicely. I should have got some longer pieces of driftwood on my recent beach trip. As I found they look better standing up, and the pieces I got are a bit short.

Can't wait to see that cabinet stocked up, with those quality lures!

Mine is a constant work in progress, I should have go

Cheers,

Matt

Nice pick up there Travers,

I could always pop round and lighten your load, won't have to worry about those extra shelves then

Cheers,
Paul.

Nice work with the lure display, Matt.  That was one of my plans.  Wadey gave me some timber that looks like your bits, so I was trying to work out how to attach lures to the timber.

Thanks for the tip.

Nice, Will be good to see it full. If it were me I would cut some clear shelves and sit 2 in between each of the timber ones and set some LED down lighting strips under each of the timber shelves which would really light them up nicely. You could even go really fancy and run a centre pole through the middle with a small motor underneath the bottom to rotate the clears.Smile

I haven't got far with the display cabinet, but I'm making some progress.  Rather than being a lure collection, this is more of a display of my lures and my mates lures.  So, I've dedicated the top shelf to my collectible lures, the middle shelf will be full of my old lures and some modern lures and the bottom shelf will be lures from my mates.

The top shelf has my recent "Tenterfield +25 Years" set but will also have The Kaditcha sets, that I've been making since 2009.

The second shelf needs a bit of work, but I'm getting there.  I think that I'll put my Newell's on this shelf.

Bottom shelf has Flappers, Aklures, Circle V, Power and a few others.

My next task is to suspend some clear shelves, to fit more lures in.

Cheers
