Shimano Bantam it had a bit of a reputation as a  being very good reel back then.

I think they were up market in the price range as well.

Never actually used one myself, does it have metal or plastic gears.

Has it served you well  Chris
Regards John

i brought closed face on ugly sticks , own about twenty ugly rods , only ever broke them in major accidents,
not the same with graphite rods , the dearer they are the easier they break
when you hit trees , a closed face doesn't over run , and is the best reel too use from a canoe .
i now use telescopic rods now with quick cast Shimano 4000 reels

Bob, Pflueger make a nice small, lowset close face reel called the Cetina. It is very smooth and has a good drag and priced under $100.00 I used the smallest Zebco many tears ago but found it struggled retrieving any lure with any sort of water drag and I virtually had to "pump and retrieve" the lure back in!! It was OK on smaller lures that had little resistance...
