A great example of one of Shane's early lures. From the late 80's, before he started writing the year on the underside of the tail.

G'day all.
With the drawdown of Lake Mulwala recently, I was blown away when I was shown a timber Stumpy that was recovered from the lakes timber graveyard. This inspired me into doing a bit of scrounging! The amount of stuff ( 4 sunken boats, springers, gill nets, cross lineshorse shoes, rabbit traps, axes, anchors, fishing rods, 2 x tackleboxes ect ect) I have found has been incredible but to top it off, about 60 lures. Among them has been a old timber Seekers & Predators, early Custom Crafted and the list goes on.
The jewel in the crown that popped up today was a timber Viper Log Runner - Black / White / Red dated Aug 93 and signed S.Murphy. Its in pretty fair condition considering it could have been under water for up to 25 years. Its been interesting finding /researching the history of this lure this arvo. Thank to Debbie D & Chris N for some help along with Matts great knowledge on Viper Lures. Pretty fair chance if you want to see it on display you may have to visit Lake Mulwala Fish Camp Ski and have a captain cook at the ever increasing display of unique painted sticks! Would post pics but have no way of getting them from my phone to computer at present . Cheers TB |
